八朔祭（熊野新宮神社）

毎年８月３１日に熊野新宮神社で行われる八朔祭りの宵宮に、造り山と呼ばれる造り物を乗せた山車が宮入します。
造り山は氏子の7集落それぞれ趣向をこらして仕立てた造り山で、祭礼の見どころとなっています。

もとは、収穫された野菜を神前に供えていた風習でしたが、1673～1681年頃より造り物に変わり、それを屋台に乗せて神社に引き入れるようになったと言われています。

京都の祇園祭の山鉾を模して飾り付けた山車で、五穀豊穣を祈る祭りとして8月31日に執り行われます。豊作を願う季節の風物詩です。

神前における宮入りと、美しく飾られた造り山が境内に並べられ、お灯明の電灯に映える姿は壮観です。

日程：毎年8月31日午後6時頃から（宵宮・造り山）
及び9月1日午前11時頃から（本宮）
